    A 39-year-old Indian-origin man, Dilip Kumar Nirmal Kumar, has been charged in Singapore for lighting fireworks during Diwali celebrations, violating the city-state's strict ban on fireworks under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021. The incident, captured on video and shared online, could result in up to five years imprisonment and fines up to SGD 100,000. The defendant will appear in court again on November 20.
