Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to begin operations on December 25, with enhanced connectivity through the new Targhar railway station on the Uran-Belapur line. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis called the station "a special gift for Mumbaikars," as the 2 lakh square feet transit hub will provide seamless access to the airport and integrate with multiple transportation networks.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport has successfully completed its Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer exercise, preparing to commence commercial operations on December 25. As Mumbai's second airport, it will initially operate with three airlines—IndiGo, Akasa, and Air India Express—handling 23 daily departures during its 12-hour operational window. This milestone makes Mumbai India's first city with dual airports, positioning it alongside global metropolises with multiple airport facilities.
