Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's defense team has requested his temporary transfer from prison to hospital for surgical procedures while simultaneously appealing for humanitarian house arrest. Bolsonaro is currently serving a 27-year sentence at the Federal Police facility in Brasilia for his involvement in a failed coup attempt against President Lula da Silva following the 2022 election.
