Dehradun has implemented strict new pet dog regulations under the Dog Licensing Bylaws-2025, allowing authorities to file FIRs against owners whose dogs bite people. The rules, targeting incidents involving aggressive breeds like Rottweilers, mandate licensing for all dogs over three months old and require anti-rabies vaccination certificates during registration. The municipal corporation can also take custody of dogs involved in attacks.
