Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado has confirmed she will travel to Oslo for her award ceremony despite threats from Venezuelan authorities who declared she would be considered a fugitive if she left the country. The opposition leader, who has been in hiding since August 2024 following contested presidential elections, will attend the formal ceremony scheduled for Wednesday according to Nobel Institute director Kristian Berg Harpviken.
