The minor was confined to a hotel room for two days where she was repeatedly assaulted. A 27-year-old woman in Ballia was allegedly drugged, raped, and blackmailed for over 18 months by a man she met on Instagram. Police arrested 23-year-old Ashish Kumar who allegedly recorded illicit footage of the assault and used it to repeatedly victimize the woman by threatening to share it online. Authorities have filed charges under rape provisions and the Information Technology Act as the investigation continues.
