Muhammad Yunus Addresses India-Bangladesh Tensions: Cites Sheikh Hasina's Refuge and SAARC Revival Challenges

Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has openly discussed strained relations with India during his New York visit, attributing tensions to India's disapproval of student protests that ousted Sheikh Hasina and India's decision to shelter the former premier. Yunus also advocated for SAARC revival while suggesting India's politics have hindered regional cooperation, and announced plans for Bangladesh's first genuine democratic elections in 15 years, scheduled for February 2025.
