    Supreme Court Orders States to Address India's Stray Dog Crisis: Compliance and Implementation Challenges

    The Supreme Court has reprimanded state governments for failing to comply with its August directive on managing stray dogs through catch-neuter-release programs. Despite increasing dog attacks nationwide, most states have not submitted required affidavits, while Rajasthan, Chennai, and Noida have begun implementing dog population control measures including sterilization, vaccination, and microchipping in accordance with Animal Birth Control rules.
