Senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi has applied for voluntary retirement with eight years of service remaining, following tensions with Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao over a delayed Rs 100 crore High-Security Hologram tender for liquor authentication in Telangana. Despite allegations of deliberate delays and ministerial calls for investigation, the government has accepted Rizvi's retirement effective October 31, 2025.
