US Navy Loses F/A-18F Super Hornet and MH-60R Helicopter in South China Sea Incidents

The US Navy's Pacific Fleet reported two separate aircraft crashes involving an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet and an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter from the USS Nimitz in the South China Sea. All five crew members were rescued and are in stable condition as investigations into the causes continue. This follows several recent aircraft incidents involving the USS Harry S. Truman in Middle Eastern waters.
