Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance for government employees, teachers, and pensioners, raising it from 55% to 58% effective July 2025. This pre-election measure will benefit approximately 16 lakh individuals and cost the state Rs 1,829 crore annually, coming amid growing pressure over unfulfilled pension reform promises.
