With 49 carrying collective bounties exceeding Rs 1 crore, the former rebels cited disillusionment with Maoist ideology and were attracted by government rehabilitation initiatives including immediate financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each. This represents one of the largest single-day surrenders in the state's history.
