Woman Confuses Brake With Accelerator, Drives Car Into Swimming Pool With 5-Year-Old Daughter Inside

A 38-year-old woman accidentally drove her car into the Paul-Eluard Municipal Swimming Pool in La Ciotat, France after mistaking the accelerator for the brake. Quick-acting lifeguards rescued both the woman and her 5-year-old daughter from the submerged vehicle. Though physically uninjured, both were treated for shock at a local hospital while the facility remains closed for repairs.
