A Pune-based IT engineer was swindled out of Rs 14 crore over seven years by a self-styled godman and his disciple who claimed they could cure his daughter's incurable congenital disease through spiritual intervention. The scammers convinced him that a deceased godman's spirit residing in the disciple could heal his daughter if he demonstrated faith by donating all his property and savings.
