Thousands of Bodo tribal students in Assam's Kokrajhar region stormed the Bodoland Territorial Council secretariat during a massive protest against the state cabinet's approval to grant Scheduled Tribes status to six additional communities. The protesters, concerned about dilution of their rights and reservation benefits, damaged property at the secretariat after marching six kilometers from Bodoland University.
