The United States has proposed a draft UN Security Council resolution to lift sanctions on Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa ahead of his historic White House meeting with President Trump. The resolution would also remove sanctions on Syria's Interior Minister as part of Washington's broader policy shift toward easing restrictions on Syria following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad after 13 years of civil war.
