Tamil Nadu Bans Coldrif Cough Syrup Following Child Fatalities in Multiple States

Tamil Nadu authorities have banned the sale of 'Coldrif' cough syrup manufactured by a Chennai-based pharmaceutical company after 11 children died in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Health officials have collected samples to test for Diethylene Glycol contamination while the Union Health Ministry has advised against prescribing cough medications to children under age 2.
