Infant Trafficking Case Uncovered in Maharashtra: Four Charged for Selling Newborn for Rs 1 Lakh

Police in Maharashtra's Thane district have filed charges against four individuals involved in the illegal sale of a 17-day-old baby boy for Rs 1 lakh. The case, which involves a couple from Kalyan taluka selling their newborn to a couple from Raigad district, was uncovered by the Women and Child Welfare department. All parties have been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act, and the infant has been rescued.
