India and Canada have agreed to restart negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), marking a significant diplomatic reset after years of strained relations. Following a meeting between PM Modi and Canadian PM Mark Carney at the G20 Summit, both nations committed to doubling bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030 while enhancing cooperation in civil nuclear energy, critical technologies, and artificial intelligence through the new Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation Partnership.
