UN Removes Sanctions on Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa Ahead of Historic Trump Meeting

The United Nations Security Council has lifted sanctions on Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa just before his scheduled White House meeting with US President Donald Trump. The US-drafted resolution also removed restrictions on Syria's Interior Minister as Washington shifts its policy toward Damascus following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad and 13 years of civil war.
