Bengaluru's "Return Gift" Initiative: Authorities Combat Littering by Returning Garbage to Offenders' Doorsteps

Bengaluru's Greater Bengaluru Authority has launched an innovative cleanliness initiative called the "Garbage Dumping Festival," where waste improperly discarded on streets is returned to offenders' homes along with a Rs 2,000 fine. Despite the city's extensive waste collection system with 5,000 vehicles, officials are using this approach and CCTV surveillance to promote proper waste disposal and preserve Bengaluru's "garden city" status.
