IndiGo CEO Apologizes as Airline Cancels Over 1,000 Flights Due to New Pilot Rest Regulations

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has issued a public apology after the airline cancelled more than half of its daily flights due to new pilot rest regulations. The crisis is expected to continue through Saturday with nearly 1,000 more cancellations, though full normalization is anticipated between December 10-15. The DGCA has granted temporary exemptions while Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has ordered a high-level inquiry into the situation.
