Multiple theatres in Ontario, Canada have suspended screenings of Indian films after Film.ca Cinemas in Oakville became the target of arson and shooting attacks within one week. The incidents, believed to be connected to South Asian film screenings, have prompted both Film.ca and York Cinemas to prioritize safety by cancelling shows of movies including Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 and They Call Him OG despite initial resistance to what appears to be intimidation.
