India Implements Sustainable Aviation Fuel Targets to Meet Global Carbon Reduction Standards by 2027

India has officially approved a progressive implementation plan for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with blending targets of 1% by 2027, 2% by 2028, and 5% by 2030 for international flights departing from India. This initiative aligns with the country's obligations under ICAO's Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, preparing the aviation sector for mandatory global carbon-reduction rules taking effect in 2027.
