Boeing Pays $50,000 Settlement in Whistleblower John Barnett's Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Boeing has agreed to pay $50,000 to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of John Barnett, a former employee and whistleblower who died by suicide while giving testimony about safety concerns at the company. Barnett's death in March 2024 brought international scrutiny to Boeing's manufacturing practices, particularly at its 787 Dreamliner facilities in South Carolina, during a time when the company was already facing investigations over safety issues with its 737 Max aircraft.
