Taliban Authorities Conduct Public Execution in Eastern Afghanistan for Murder Conviction

Afghanistan's Taliban government carried out another public execution in Khost province, bringing the total to 12 since 2021. The convicted murderer, identified as Mangal, was executed in a sports stadium despite UN condemnation of such practices as violations of international human rights standards.
