The Madhya Pradesh government has postponed the promised Rs 250 Bhai Dooj gift for Ladli Behnas due to budgetary constraints, but announced an increase in monthly assistance from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,500 starting November. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that the scheme aims to promote women's economic self-reliance, with over Rs 45,000 crore already distributed to 1.26 crore beneficiaries since its launch in June 2023.
