Delhi Announces Complete Waiver on Water Bill Late Payment Charges Until January 2026

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a complete waiver of late payment surcharges on water bills totaling over Rs 11,000 crore for domestic consumers until January 31, 2026, followed by a 70% reduction until March 2026. The government has also significantly reduced penalties for legalizing unauthorized connections, with the Delhi Jal Board currently facing Rs 87,589 crore in outstanding water bills.
