Nepal has restricted former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and four senior officials from leaving the country during an investigation into protests that left 73 dead. The violence, which began as youth demonstrations against social media restrictions and economic hardship, resulted in $600 million in damages and toppled the government. Interim PM Sushila Karki has established an investigative commission ahead of 2026 elections.
