West Bengal Government Announces Rs 2 Lakh Financial Aid for Families Affected by SIR-Linked Deaths

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for families of 39 individuals who allegedly died due to "SIR-induced panic." The government will also provide Rs 1 lakh to 13 others who fell ill during the enumeration exercise, as the state addresses the widespread distress reportedly caused by the SIR implementation.
