Virus-Infected Laboratory Monkeys Escape After Mississippi Highway Accident: Public Health Alert Issued

Laboratory monkeys potentially carrying hepatitis C and Covid-19 escaped following a transport truck accident on Interstate 59 in Mississippi. Authorities have warned the public to avoid contact with these aggressive rhesus monkeys, which were being transported from Tulane University. All but one of the escaped primates have been captured, with search efforts continuing for the remaining animal.
