A Brazilian hairdresser, Larissa Nery, discovered her photograph was at the center of Indian political controversy after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged her image appeared multiple times in Haryana voter lists. Nery, who has never visited India, expressed concern about the unauthorized use of her 8-year-old stock photo that was originally taken casually by a photographer friend and has since been downloaded over 400,000 times from free stock photo websites.
