HAL Secures Deal with General Electric for 113 Jet Engines to Power Indigenous Tejas Mark-1A Fighter Fleet

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed an agreement with General Electric to supply 113 F404-GE-IN20 engines for India's indigenous Tejas Mark-1A fighter jets. The deal supports India's recent order of 97 Tejas aircraft worth over Rs 62,370 crore, with deliveries scheduled between 2027-2032, advancing the nation's self-reliance in defense manufacturing while HAL simultaneously expands into civil aviation through collaboration on the SJ-100 regional aircraft.
