A west London Labour Party politician and solicitor, Hina Mir, has been fined £40,000 after losing her appeal against an immigration law breach. She was found to have illegally employed a 22-year-old Indian student as a nanny for her children, paying her £1,200 in cash monthly despite the student having no legal work rights in the UK.
