West Bengal has completed phase 1 of its Special Intensive Revision exercise, removing 58 lakh voters (7.6%) from electoral rolls due to deaths, relocations, or duplications. Additionally, 1.67 crore voters face scrutiny for logical discrepancies including mismatched father's names, improper age differences with relatives, and gender inconsistencies. This marks the first digitally conducted electoral revision in the state, with hearings scheduled for affected voters to present documentation supporting their registration status.
