Election Commission Confirms No Obstacles to Electoral Roll Revision in West Bengal Despite Concerns

The Election Commission of India has confirmed that the special intensive revision of electoral rolls will proceed in West Bengal and 11 other states from November to February, despite concerns raised. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar emphasized that states are constitutionally obligated to provide necessary personnel for the exercise, citing the Commission's powers under Article 324 of the Constitution. The announcement comes ahead of assembly elections scheduled next year in West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu.
