Hyderabad Cybercrime police have apprehended Emmadi Ravi, the alleged founder of notorious piracy networks iBomma and Bappam. Following an international manhunt, authorities seized hardware and froze bank accounts containing over Rs 3 crore linked to operations that reportedly cost the Telugu film industry Rs 3,700 crore in 2024 alone. The sophisticated piracy network utilized Caribbean servers, cryptocurrency transactions, and encrypted communications to distribute illegal content across over 70 mirror sites.
