Mizoram: Mizo National Front Retains Dampa Assembly Seat as R Lalthangliana Wins By-election With 562-Vote Margin

The opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) has successfully retained the Dampa assembly seat in Mizoram's Mamit district, with candidate R Lalthangliana defeating ruling Zoram People's Movement's Vanlalsailova by 562 votes. The bypoll, which saw 83.07% voter turnout, was necessitated by the death of incumbent MNF legislator Lalrintluanga Sailo in July.
